Today we move on to the second part of The Freedom in Christ Course, where we will be learning about the three things that try to stop us from becoming fruitful followers of Jesus: the world, the flesh, and the devil.
In today’s session we will be looking at what the world is, how it seeks to entrap us, and how it deceives us by giving us a false perception of reality. In today’s globalized culture we have more knowledge than ever before about different countries and cultures of the world, but we are just as vulnerable as people always have been to being deceived and negatively affected by the world around us.
To prepare yourself for today’s session, think about how the culture in which you have grown up and now live (and those two may be different) have affected the person you are, and the things you believe. Pray for God to open your eyes during the session today to ways in which the world has influenced you.
