Change It Up!

Psalm 145

Verses 11-12 They tell of the glory of Your kingdom and speak of Your might, so that all people may know of Your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.

We started talking about these verses that tie the praise of the people with the glory of His kingdom.

We know we are to share about His mighty acts and talk about His glorious splendor, but knowing and doing are two different things. Knowing is the easy part, but doing actually requires intentional choices to make Him known. We have to accept the fact that others may not want to hear about it but that shouldn’t discourage us because it isn’t about praise for ourselves but about making Him known.

One reason God has created us is to bring Him glory. We are His creation and so should be pointing to Him in all we say and do. When we become aware that what we do and say is important to the Kingdom of God, we must be more mindful of how we talk and act. There is no questions that we have all failed in this living for His glory. We all have sinned and fallen short of His standard but the thing is, we don’t have to stay there.

Of course, this is one of the ways we can show the power of His might. When we surrender to His conviction in our lives, He will work transformation in our lives. This transformation will lead to noticeable changes in our lives. We will act and possibly talk differently than we are known for. If we were known for our anger, His work in our life could reveal Him through a new and growing peace-loving nature. If we have been known for going to a certain kind of unsavory movie, people will take note when we only start seeing things that are G or PG rated.

There are so many ways that His mighty work in our lives can bring Him glory and we should be looking for the moments we can see the change He is making in our lives and praise Him for them. But these changes don’t show in our lives if we are too happy with living our lives without surrendering to Him. When we love Him we will surrender to His will and that gives us the testimony that others can come to see Him more clearly.

Making It Personal

What has been changed in your life through the work of God? Have people commented that they noticed the difference? What do you need to surrender to Him today?

Making It Personal Kids

What has Jesus changed in your life? Have you praised Him for helping you change? What do you think He still would like to change in you?

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for Your loving work in our lives to make us more holy. Give us the desire to proclaim You with our lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.
