Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 1 Peter 5:8-9
Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been looking at how this world tries to influence our thinking and how our flesh has been programmed to predispose us to live independently of God. But as well as the world and the flesh, we have a third enemy – the devil.
Who is the devil? Is he the being that Hollywood would have us believe he is? Is he even real? Are we immune to his tactics as Christians, or do we need to fear him?
In this week’s session we’ll be looking at these questions. We’ll uncover the reality of who he is and understand the tactics he uses to try and keep us from becoming all God wants us to be. If we’re aware of how he works, we will be much less likely to fall for his schemes.
We will see that he is a liar, and that we defend ourselves again him with truth.
