No Exceptions

Copyright by Freedom in Christ, used with permission.

To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32

Jesus said that we would be set free by knowing the truth. He didn’t then follow that with a list of exceptions, things that were too hard to be set free from. That’s because there are no exceptions!

We know from what the Bible says, and have seen through experience as people go through this course that there is nothing that God can't set people free from. However long you have struggled with it, however deep you feel it goes. The truth can set people free from addictions to alcohol, pornography, shopping and abusing food in various ways. It can set you free from the effects of the most traumatic of past events and it can overpower lies you have believed about yourself for years.

“Bigger” or “deeper” issues may take more time and effort to deal with as the mental and physical habits are more deeply ingrained, but the principles are still the same – find out what you are believing that is contrary to God’s Word and make the choice to change what you believe.

Hear those words from Jesus directly to you today: “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free”. No exceptions.
