Psalm 145
Verse 15 The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food at the proper time.
We continue looking at the blessings that the Lord does for those He loves and has chosen.
There is no one that can see all that our Lord sees. His eyes are roaming “throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9). And while it is great knowing that He is looking over His faithful, we need to remember that our eyes also need to be seeking Him.
Looking to Him isn’t just about seeing Him, it is about looking to Him to fulfill all that we need. Not just the physical wants but more importantly the emotional and spiritual needs we have. Although we tend to focus more on the physical needs, or sometimes even just the physical wants, the Lord is looking for us to seek Him for our spiritual and emotional needs.
Though they may not seem very important to us, our emotional needs are significant to our overall being. Not that we are to be overly wrapped up in our emotions because there are multiple proverbs that advise against letting our emotions rule our hearts. While we shouldn’t give free reign to our emotions it is important to have healthy emotions and only the Lord can help us with those needs. It is through Him that we learn to love and grieve properly.
Our spiritual needs are a whole other matter. Left to ourselves we would seek all the wrong spiritual things and not understand our true needs. Our true need is Christ and Him alone, but we need to accept that fact and embrace the idea that it is for our spiritual health that we draw closer in relationship with Him.
In looking to Him we will find our every need met. He will provide us with the things that will truly bring us health. He will nourish us with the food that only He can give. He has given us His Word and that is our greatest source of needed elements for spiritual and emotional health. We will find the needed instructions only as we look to Him and the information and lessons He has given us.
