Psalm 95:3-7
Verse 6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
The next thing we are going to be thankful for is His being our Creator and how He cares for us. He didn’t make us as dolls on an assembly line, each one of us is created uniquely and to intentionally reflect Him. We tend to take this for granted. We may not think about how complex He has made us often and yet the evidence of His creative power is obvious in our daily lives.
There is the fact that He designed us with an ability to rest by sleeping. He could have made us with an unending stamina, but instead He created our brains to recharge and process all the thoughts running through our minds. He gave us the ability to think and reason which enables us to create as well.
He has given each of us a creative nature and although they show up differently in each of our lives, they are one of the ways we are created in His image. Whether we show our creativity in crafts, woodworking, music, jokes, stories, or a variety of other ways, they are all His mark on us as His creation.
The amazing way our bodies work, displays His attention to detail. Every little nerve and muscle is so precisely placed so that we can function fully no matter if we are at work or play. We have ligaments and bones with joints that allow us to walk, sit, eat, and so many other things. And if that wasn’t enough, He gave us purposes to fulfill in this life. He gifted us for certain jobs and ministries so that we can bring Him glory as we reveal His character to others. And all this is just about His creativity in humans.
He had spent the 5 days previous to creating humans creating the whole earth, heavens, trees, plants, stars, rivers, and animals. Every single detail in other pieces of creation are complex not just by themselves, but by how they work together. Each and every part of creation points back to Him.
Sunrises and sunsets show His ability to blend colors and snow shows how something so pure and white can paint a picture that will take our breath away. All these things should cause us to thank Him in fervent praise. Only a true, living God could do all of this.
Making It Personal
What are things about His creation that you thank Him for? What should you thank Him for about yourself? What can you do to be more thankful for His creation?
Making It Personal Kids
What is your favorite animal? Have you thanked God for that animal? What can you thank God about yourself?
Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for showing Your creative nature in how You created us and the world You have placed us in. Help us never forget that You are the Great Designer and that we owe You our total gratitude. In Jesus’ name, amen.
